I started with a top from good will. I purchased 4 fat quarters of fabric on sale at .99 cents each. I cut the bottom off the shirt. I cut the fabric into 4″ strips and then into rectangles. I wasn’t trying to make them all the exact same size but you could. I attached each strip of squares to the top. The first I made a few inches larger than the top measurement then each additional row was a few inches larger than the one before it.
