Cathy and I made up a fun bucket list of local items we always said “next year” to.  So now we are doing some of these fun events which then of course leads into putting them into our bucket list travelers notebooks! I was asked to put some of my knitting at the Better Together Farm store.  I chose some special creations and will be using the proceeds to help fun my daughters dream of becoming a doctor.

Now that I work from home I use the time I would have commuted to work to walk on a local trail.  Sometimes I see some pretty interesting things – turtles, skunks, birds, snakes, butterflies, flowers and once a mama bear and 2 cubs.  (ok that was a little scary) I listen to audio books and enjoy my time to just relax.   #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

We did some fun activities this summer.  I really enjoy doing my travelers notebook as a journal of our life. Laika loves her Starbucks pup cups! She is not a fan of ice cream lol In the spring time I walk on specific trails looking for the elusive lady slippers.  They are only out a few weeks a year and they are one of my favorite flowers.  #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

For us on the east coast seeing the pacific ocean was a novelty.  We had some great views from the cruise ship, from the ports and of course from the whale watches.  One of our photo safari list items was cool cloud so we have a lot of ocean/cloud photos.  #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

We had a young owl come and visit on our fence.  He was there and in a nearby tree most of the day.  I love owls and it isnt often you get an upclose and personal view of them in the wild.    #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

We went on two different ocean based wildlife excursions in Alaska. We saw tons of whales. Humpback whales like we have on the east coast and also Orcas which was so cool. We got some really great shots even with our phone cameras. #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

Having a checklist for must have photos was a big help on a long once in a lifetime family adventure to Alaska.  Look at the cuteness of those sea otters.  Love them.  Denali was absolutely fabulous to see – so worth it! #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

I pre-made a photo safari type travelers notebook with a check list and items to look for on vacation.  When we got back I printed 4×6 collage prints and added them to the book. #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

I entered a few projects into the fair this year.  My 2 big projects for the year was the pumpkin colored sweater and the short sleeve patterned yoke sweater. Really happy with how they turned out and they both got a blue ribbon! #travelingcrafter #knittingaddict

For me there is nothing more relaxing and mentally resetting as walking on the beach.  Doesn’t have to be warm even.     This was Laika’s first beach walk.  She loved the running free part on the beach but we had to keep her from drinking the salt water.  #lovemyscrapbookingideas #travelersnotebook #travelingcrafter

While I was home on the Cape for a visit we took the dogs out on their local trails. They really enjoyed it.  Less wildlife but beautiful scenery. This was the first time the 2 dogs had spent an overnight together.  Blue is much bigger and in charge than Laika.  #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

Since the start of the pandemic I have used my commuting time to walk.  On average I walk 2 miles a day.  Still working from home and my time varies but I really enjoy getting my walk in on the beautiful local trails.  #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

Had to make several trips to drop my daughter back on campus.  Laika our dog loved to chase the Canadian geese.   The UCONN Avery Point campus is beautiful – right on the water in Groton, CT. #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

I started keeping this journal/mini scrapbook during covid and I enjoyed doing it so I’ve kept it up since.    This layout is more journalish just noting dates and what I was doing.  Others are more elaborate.  #lovemyscrapbookingideas #cocodaisy #travelingcrafter

I knew when I started this sweater it would be complicated.  I had to google stitches in almost every row of the yoke pattern, but I got a big sense of accomplishment getting through each row as I went.  I had to run yarn through the bottom (vs needles) to try it on.  I just finished the bottom ribbing (not shown) this past weekend and of course the sleeves need to be done.   #travelingcrafter #knittingaddict

After doing nothing for months it was so exciting to go out for a holiday light display – even if it was just a drive through with a dinner at Denny’s after. The light display was beautiful!

There were sine really great memes created during the pandemic.  I did this layout based on Star Trek memes and I printed them on sticker paper. I thought documenting what we saw on social media is a good way to preserve what happened.

Everything went on hold with Covid including team rifle practice.  We thought it would be a fun photo op to do a few photos with her air rifle in her prom dress.

First completed project for 2022 fair season! This was completed in 2 pieces which are then stitched together and then a collar added.  This will be great in the spring when I just need a light coverup.  #travelingcrafter #knittingaddict

In 2020 I did a 100 mile challenge in the month of July.  It really motivated me to walk more for my health.  Instead of doing a bunch of smaller challenges – in 2021 I signed up for a 600 mile challenge.

I did something I was afraid to try and it was awesome to get to the top of the trestle on the snowshoes.  I was out with my husband who doesn’t think twice about making the climb.  Sometimes you have to go outside your comfort zone. It felt great to make it to the top!

I got these great shots of patterns in the ice when I was out walking. I love getting out on the local trails its a great way to wind down and de-stress.

My daughter has health issues so we have a lot of photos from appointments and surgeries.  As a joke I made this punch card since she had 4 surgeries with the same surgeon.

Last year with school and work from home I was enjoying my daughters bake shop “labs” she made lots of great things.  I felt bad for the teacher who had to cut the recopies down to 2 muffins or 4 cookies…

Durham Fair was the only fair operating in 2021 where I could enter my handicrafts.  I entered in 7 projects and all got ribbons.  4 first and 3 2nd place.  I was just so happy that the fairs started up and hoping next year they will all be operating.  I’m already starting projects to enter for next year!  All in all I had a great season and improved my standing over last year in the ribbon department.  #travelingcrafter #knittingaddict
